Dr Workneh receives copies of letters of credence of the newly appointed Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia

Foreign Minister Dr Workneh Gebeyehu met the newly appointed Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Arturo Luzzi and received his credentials today (October 31). 

Dr. Workneh warmly welcoming the newly appointed Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia noted that Ethiopia and Italy have more than a century old diplomatic relation. He has also reiterated that both countries have been working in various areas of cooperation and global issues of common interest including migration, terrorism, and regional peace and security issues.

Ambassador Arturo Luzzi on his part highlighting the good working relation the Government of Italy has with its Ethiopian counterpart noted his country's keenness to further cement and enhances the already cordial bilateral relations to its highest point. The Ambassador has also commended Ethiopia's considerable role in regional peace and security issues and expressed the government of Italy's wish to further work together in addressing regional and global issues of peace and security concerns.

Dr. Workneh has thanked Italy for its significant support to his country in various areas of cooperation and emphasizes the need to continue this support in the years ahead. The Foreign Minister assured the Ambassador that the Ministry will provide any necessary assistance during his tenure in Ethiopia and will work closely with the Embassy of Italy.
