  • Sudan and Russia discuss energy cooperation (Oct 09, 2013)


     

    The Sudanese Oil Minister, Awad Ahmed al-Jazz, met with Russia’s Minister for Oil, Alexander Novac, in Moscow on Monday (October 7) to discuss increasing Russian investment in Sudan’s oil industry in order to achieve strategic objectives and meet the growing demand for energy. According to a government-sponsored website, Minister al-Jazz welcomed Russian investment in Sudan. He stressed the strength of the bilateral relations between the two countries and outlined the capabilities of Sudan’s Russia’s interest in investing in oil and gas exploration and production in Sudan, saying that it was time for Russia to engage in true partnership with Sudan in the energy sector.
