Dr. Workneh receives Qatari State Minister for Foreign Affairs
In his meeting with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi on Sunday (January 28, 2018), Dr. Workneh noted that "the relations between Ethiopia and Qatar have improved tremendously after the state visit PM Hailemariam had made recently to Qatar."
Qatari State Minister for Foreign Affairs Saad Al-Muraikhi, on his part, thanking Dr. Workneh for the warm and brotherly welcome accorded to him, told Dr. Workenh that "Ethiopia is a major player in Africa" as well as the host of the African Union Headquarters. Speaking of regional peace and stability, the State Minister expressed Qatar's interest to work more closely with Ethiopia "to establish safe heavens for people in countries such as Somalia" who continue to suffer from the ongoing havoc wreaked by terrorist groups such as Al-Shabaab.
Recalling the signing of more than a dozen of bilateral agreements between the sides, Dr. Workneh underlined the need to accelerate the pace of their implementations.
