ECONOMIC SABOTAGE IS INTOLERABLE

By ETHIOPIANS FOR JUSTICE AND DEMOCRACY IN EUROPE

The opposition's economic and political confuse, delay and damage policy continues to disrupt and delay the economic progress of the nation by creating confusion and sense of instability amongst the public at large. The opposition's new tactics and strategy has evolved at a time when the party leant that it has lost the May 15 election. It has become abundantly clear that the ruling party has with no doubt won majority of the seats necessary to form the next government. the opposition party on the other hand got significant seats in the parliament and was declared a wining in Addis Ababa. This result was indorsed among others by the NEBE (the official Electoral Board), the Carter Center, along European countries and the United States. they all advised the government and the opposition to work together in the parliament the winner to form the next government and the loser as a loyal opposition and carry on with the business of the country. While the ruling party is ready to carry on with the unfinished business of the nation, the opposition continues to be an obstacle peace, security and stability. The opposition still continues to

Change its tactics from time to time and now, it is contemplating on provoking the public at large to involve in economic sabotage. When it is clean that they have instigated the disgraceful activity during the Meskel celebration, they are now telling the people not to work and not to participate in their day to day activities, they are interfering in the livelihood of the public at large. In doing so they are contemplating on subversive and sabotage activities. Their aim as usual is to try to grasp power by any and every measures including violence's and economic sabotage. they have changed their sinister activity from destruction to sabotage . There is no comparative and superlative degree of disaster. From the very outset, the opposition parties have been involved in destructive activities, thus, their new tactic is nothing less than the old one. Their purpose is simply to create a sense of confusion and anarchy in the country since they now and since it has been abundantly clear that they have suffered or monumental and devastating alefeat on the may 15 election. The laliole world knowing and has been convinced that the Ethiopian Election has been clearly an exemplary to African nations and has been declared free and democratic at any standard. The observers have also declared that any disagreement on the outcome of the may 15 election must only be resolved through peaceful and democratic ways and through the legal procedure of the country; however, the opposition continues to disregard all democratic and legal means and is opting of illegal and undemocratic ways and means. the opposition has on several occasions declared that they will not enter the parliament (at least their leader declared this statement). Other members have not yet decided to enter or not to enter the parliament they seem to be confused on almost everything regarding the election. The problem is that they want to confuse the public at large through their provocative and self serving propaganda. The opposition have gained enough seat in the parliament; therefore it is their responsibility to serve their constituencies in the parliament. they have to accept the constitutional responsibilities, enter the parliament without any re-condition and serve the public as loyal opposition they are accountable to the people who cast votes for them. They must have moral as well as professional responsibilities to their voters and make use of the votes they gained from their followers.   This is the only legal and democratic option for the opposition to refrain from any illegal activities including their latest provocative agenda of disrupting the economic development of this country. In any democratic nation, economic sabotage can not be tolerated because it will have devastating effect on the socio economic fabrique of the nation, thus, it is illegal and unacceptable. Ethiopia is among the less developed nations in the world. The country can not afford any activity that will drain the economy. Boycotting and any other economic sabotage is the least the country needs. The country needs to embark on the needs needed poverty reduction and economic development in order to improve the livelihoods of the citizens. This can only be achieved through hard work, commitment and dedication. Its people must work day and night; they must ignore senseless provocations from the opposition and continue with their determination to eradicate poverty and dependency once and for all. Ethiopia is on the verge to solving chronic poverty and is embarking on development and self dependency it is changing bad images and replacing them with signs brought future. it is time therefore, that all parties put their ranging in the back burner and focus entirely on the main agenda of eh nation. The opposition's current positive move towards respecting the rule of law is a goods move because as the saying goes they can full some people sometimes but can't full many people many times, Ethiopia can not afford economic sabotage; enough is enough!
