ESDFP Says will Hold discussion with EPRDF (06 February, 2006)

 

The Ethiopian Social Democratic Federal Party (ESDFP) said it has launched efforts aimed at enabling it ensure its democratic and peaceful struggle by holding continued discussions with the Ruling party, EPRDF, through UEDF.

It also called upon representatives of seven member parties of the UEDF operating abroad to stop their decision bent on dividing the parties.

During a general assembly held at the hall of the National electoral Board, Prof. Beyene Petros said ESDFP would exert efforts to ensure the human and democratic rights of the people in the country.

He pointed out that representatives of seven parties of UEDF have been on illegal move.

Pro. Beyene said the party has also made efforts to stop the representatives from dividing the parties.

The general assembly is aimed at passing resolutions believed to be important to meet public goals by evaluating the struggle launched by the party, he said.

The general assembly would also elect the central, executive and inspection committees of the party, Prof. Beyene said.

It would also make amendments on the statute of the party, he added.
