| The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia is pleased to announce that a National Conference on the theme "Implementation of Reporting Obligations under International Human Rights Instruments Ratified by Ethiopia" will be held on October 1st and 2nd 2007 in Addis Ababa at the United Nations Conference Center. The Conference will bring together representatives of the relevant Federal and Regional Government bodies, representatives of the House of People's Representatives and the House of Federation, representatives of the judiciary, representatives of the civil society and members of the international community. The Conference is expected to deliberate on problems faced by Ethiopia in complying fully with its reporting obligations and adopt recommendations for sustained reporting by Ethiopia. At the Conference, presentations on international, regional and national systems of human rights protection will be made. The National Conference is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission and with the technical assistance of the Regional Office of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
