October 7, 2005 - The African Union (AU) acquired 200,000 square meters of land from the Addis Ababa City Administration to build an African Village in the metropolis. October 11, 2005 - A joint discussion organized by the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectorial Associations and a Korean Trade - Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) was held in Addis. October 19, 2005 - The Prime Ministers of Ethiopia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines have agreed to further strengthen cooperation between the two nations. October 24, 2005 - The 60th UN Day was celebrated here at the United Nations conference center in the presence of representatives of UN agencies, UNMEE, senior government officials and concerned bodies. October 26, 2005 - The 7th International Conference on Language and Development was held in the metropolis bringing together 140 participants from higher learning institutions in Ethiopia as well as Europe, Asia and the rest of Africa. November 23-25 - Experts/Ministerial Preparatory meeting for the Conference of the Parties (COP) of Bamako Convention will be held in Addis Ababa. |
