July 21, 2005- Prime Minister Meles Zenawi has received and held talks with Prime Minister of the Somalian Federal Transitional Government, Ali Mohammad Gedi. During the meeting Prime Minister Meles underlined how useful the prevailing stability in Somalia is for Ethiopia. July 23, 2005- General John Abizaid, Commander of US Central Command said the military ties between Ethiopia and America would be enhanced. While conferring with Prime Minister Meles here in Addis Ababa on the prevention of terrorism and regional stability, Abizaid said there is an excellent cooperation between Ethiopia and the United States in the fight against terrorism in the whole of Africa. July 26, 2005- The joint meeting of the Ethio-Yemen trade and investment relations was held here in the metropolis. August 4, 2005- The 4th African Union Extra Ordinary summit discussed upon the issue of the Reform for the United Nations. August 5, 2005- The 35th anniversary of the Ethio-China diplomatic relations was observed here in Addis. August 10, 2005- African Mines Share Continental meeting was held here in Addis. Mines Ministers from seven African countries as well as sender officials and invited guests from various organizations attended the meeting. August 17, 2005- Meeting of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) will kick off here in Addis Ababa. August 19, 2005- Representatives of all member states of Africa will confer to consider the Report on Preferential Rates for Geneva and Brussels. August 28, 2005- Delegations from member states of Africa will gather to adopt the Draft Report on Revised Financial Rules and Regulations and Preferential Rates for Geneva and Brussels. August 29-30, 2005- Decade of Education: Steering Committee Meeting on the Education of the Decade will be deliberated here in Addis Ababa.
September- coordination meeting of the UN and AU will be held in Addis Ababa.
