November 1, 2005 - The 5th Extraordinary summit of the African Union (AU) deliberated on the issue of Reforming the United Nation and passed the draft resolution reaffirming the Africa common position as embodied in the Ezulwini Consensus and the Sirte Declaration and Resolution. November 1, 2005 - The government of Ethiopia and Equatorial Guinea singed a comprehensive cooperation agreement to forge closer ties in various sectors. November 9, 2005 - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi has held talks with the Sudanese Minister for presidential Affairs, Dr.Justin Yacc Arop, focusing on bilateral cooperation of the two countries. November 9, 2005 - President Girma Wolde-Giorgis underlined the contribution of the Economic Commission of Africa( ECA) as crucial to meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Africa in general and in Ethiopia in particular. The president made the remark while receiving the credentials of the newly appointed Under Secretary General of the ECA, Abdouie Janneh. November 21, 2005 - A conference organized on International aid, trade and development in Africa under the theme ''Search for Development Paradigm'' was held in Addis Ababa. November 22,2005 - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi received and held talks with a delegation of Austrian investors, as well as the Prime Minister of the Federal Transitional Government of Somalia. November 23,2005 - A workshop discussing the final draft of the Ethio-Sudan power system Interconnection project study was held in Addis Ababa. November 26,2005 - A worldwide congress on Agricultural and Rural Finance was held here in Addis Ababa. Prime Minister Meles, on theoccasion, said rural finance was playing a critical role in the improvement of agricultural productivity, through the provision of credit for smallholder farmers. November 29,2005 - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi held talks with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Donald Yamamoto on issues concerning the international fight against terrorism as well as on ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation. November 29,2005 - The Japanese government will host in Ethiopia a two-day international conference to promote peace in Africa. |
