Meles Holds Talks with Chairperson of UNWTO ST-EP Foundation ( May 1 ,2007 )
Prime Minister Meles Zenawi received and held talks with Dho Young-Shim, South Korean Ambassador of Tourism and Sports on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Meles and Ambassador Young Shim, who is also Chairperson of UNWTO ST-EP (Sustainable Tourism for Eliminating Poverty) Foundation discussed ways through which Ethiopian professionals could get training opportunities in South Korea in the fields of construction industry.

Ambassador Young-Shim led a team of 11 South Korean invertors to pay working visit in Ethiopia, Minister of Culture and Tourism Ambassador Mohammed Dirir said.

The two parties, during the discussion, noted that Ethiopia and South Korea have been enjoying robust relation in various fields and stressed the need for consolidating up the existing good relations.

Ambassador Young-Shim said that South Korea would provide all assistances to Ethiopia in its efforts for development .

President of the South Korean Federation of Construction Industry Societies, Hong Sa Kwon, told journalists that the federation would train Ethiopian professionals particularly in construction of roads, bridges and hydro power plants.

Established in 2003 by the United Nations World Tourism Organization, the ST-EP Foundation works to harness the developmental power of tourism in the fight against world poverty.
