Embassy Participates in a Forum organized by Indian Chamber of International Business

The Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in India participated in a forum organized by the Indian Chamber of International Business (ICIB) in New Delhi at Crown Plaza Hotel on April 27, 2022.
The forum titled “MSMEs Going Global” aimed to connect Indian MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) wanting to invest outside of India to possible destination countries for their investment.
H.E. Ambassador Tizita Mulugeta spoke on the investment, trade and tourism opportunities Ethiopia offers to the Indian MSMEs, business communities and investors.
She talked about the areas Indian MSMEs can invest into and explained the incentives provided by the Government of Ethiopia to expand the investment environment in the country with an aim to attract more foreign direct investment.
Ambassador Tizita also encouraged Indian traders to buy Ethiopia’s major export items of agricultural products that are known to be organically and sustainably grown.
Venturing into the vast tourism opportunities, the Ambassador explained Ethiopia’s tourist destinations that are registered under the UNESCO world heritage sites worth to be explored by Indian tourists.
Rtn. Manpreet Singh, President of the ICIB, explained the activities of the chamber and its role in MSMEs with its presence in 12 states in India and in more than 42 countries globally.
Rtn. Manpreet explained the focus areas of the chamber on education and culture in addition to the usual business interactions and further explained the importance of people-to-people relations.
Further to these, a power point presentation was given for the participants on Ethiopia’s the investment opportunities.
The forum was attended by MSME companies and other presentations made by Ambassadors of Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Jamaica.
