(09-05-2019 published)
The Foreign Minister briefed the President on the 67th Extraordinary Session of the IGAD Council of Ministers which was concluded yesterday in Juba.

The Minister said the IGAD Council of Ministers endorsed the six months extension of the pre-transition period that all the parties have agreed during their last week’s meeting in #AddisAbaba, #Ethiopia.

He appreciated the commitment of the parties in this regard to the full implementation of the agreement, while also commending the government’s commitment to provide additional 100 million dollars to support the process. This, he said, would encourage international partners to provide additional support for the peace process.

In connection, Foreign Minister Gedu reiterated #IGAD’s commitment and that of the Government of Ethiopia to help the peace process move forward. ( 232 Viewers) Back to Home
